Bush Hogging in Birmingham, AL

We cut tall grass, weeds and light woody growth on open acreage, field edges and accessible trails. Our tractor-mounted rotary cutter handles suitable stems up to about 1 inch in diameter. Bush hogging reduces growth above the ground; it does not extract roots or clear mature trees.

Best for grass, weeds and slender regrowth on ground our tractor can safely reach.

  • Weeds and light brush with stems up to 1 inch in diameter.
  • Planned cutting passes across fields, trails and fence lines.
  • A manageable field finish while roots and surrounding trees remain.

Our Bush Hogging Process and Equipment

Our process uses a tractor-mounted rotary cutter to cut tall grass, weeds and light brush with stems up to about 1 inch in diameter. We first check the field for hidden obstacles and access, then choose a suitable cutting height and work in overlapping passes. We finish by checking the agreed paths, edges and usable field area.

Field Growth We Cut Around Birmingham

Tall field grass, broadleaf weeds and slender regrowth can suit rotary cutting on firm, accessible ground. Thick privet trunks, dense woody thickets and established trees need another method. Kudzu can conceal gullies, debris and stumps, so we inspect vine-covered ground before choosing equipment or a cutting route.

Land Clearing Questions,
Clear Answers.

What is the difference between bush hogging, mulching and clearing?

Our bush hogging cuts grass, weeds and light brush with stems up to about 1 inch. Our track-loader mulching process handles underbrush and suitable trees up to 7 inches, leaving mulch on-site. Land clearing addresses permit-approved larger trees, stump or root work and hauling, as included in your quote.

Will mowing or mulching permanently remove privet and kudzu?

Not by itself. Mechanical work removes or shreds above-ground growth, while living roots can produce new shoots. We discuss follow-up cutting or a separate vegetation-management plan. Dense kudzu can hide holes, rocks and debris, so the work area needs inspection first.

Can you work on steep or wet Birmingham properties?

Access, slope, soil strength and obstacles determine whether a machine can work safely. We assess firm routes and retained ground cover, and may change the method or timing. Saturated ground, steep edges and drainage channels need particular care.
